April has been a part of the LifeCare team since 2008. She holds a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and received Gordon-Conwell’s prestigious Division of Ministry Award in Clinical Counseling. April enjoys using a scriptural lens in working with transition in life issues, identity formation, anxiety, depression, communication and conflict resolution, grief, forgiveness, and finally marital growth.
“Everyone has needs—learning to express those needs in healthy ways is the key to satisfying and healthy relationships!” relates a key principle April expounds while using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and research-based Gottman Techniques.
April loves empowering individuals and married couples and she has an affinity for college-aged students and women rising to the challenges each season of life brings:
“Sometimes you just need someone to come along side of you for a time while you regroup and find your footing.”
April believes being a part of that process for so many has been “one of the greatest callings of my life.”
During the last 25 years, April’s ministry experience has included Associate Campus Director with Campus Crusade for Christ, extended overseas missions work, and church ministry at Hope Community Church. She and her husband Jon have been married over 22 years and are busy raising 3 beautiful children.
April is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of North Carolina.
