Alyssa is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate who creates a warm, compassionate space where clients can come home to themselves and reconnect with others. She approaches therapy holistically—integrating the body, mind, and spirit—and often incorporates mindfulness and somatic practices, including trauma-sensitive yoga (TSY), to support traditional talk therapy. For clients who desire it, Alyssa weaves in elements of spirituality while honoring those with different or no faith backgrounds.
Alyssa earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating with highest distinction. She went on to complete her Master’s in Marriage, Family, and Individual Counseling at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
She specializes in anxiety, women’s trauma, and couples therapy, and works with adults ages 18 and older. Alyssa draws from a range of evidence-based approaches including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), somatic therapy, polyvagal theory, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples.
