Katie is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise & Sport Studies from Greensboro College and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University.
Katie does not take for granted the strength it takes to seek support. She wholeheartedly believes in the process of mental health counseling and is excited to come along side those who would choose to participate in this journey. She understands that each client brings a unique perspective, set of experiences, and personality. Therefore, she seeks to meet each client right where they are, partnering with them to tailor the counseling experience to best fit their goals.
Seeking to treat the whole person, Katie helps her clients explore physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual issues that may be hindering them from living life to the fullest. As a Christian, Katie believes that knowing Jesus and growing in our relationship with Him is an integral part of reaching our fullest potential. She also recognizes that we all walk different spiritual journeys and understands that not everyone desires to integrate faith into their counseling experience.
Katie’s approach to counseling is collaborative, teaming with clients to set realistic goals and design a treatment plan to reach those goals. Her primary objective is to create a space in which each client would feel safe to share both vulnerably and authentically. She works primarily from a Cognitive Behavioral methodology, while also pulling in techniques from other counseling theories based on the client’s specific needs. Katie works with adult women, teens, children age 8 and older, couples, and families. Her areas of experience include depression, anxiety, identity, relationship challenges, grief/loss, and life transitions.
