Ashley is a counseling intern who is currently pursuing an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University. She graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Psychology and from George Washington University with an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis on Special Education and English as a Second Language.

Ashley has 25 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in educational settings, teaching English to students from other countries, working with exceptional children, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to determine the best outcomes for students educationally, emotionally, and psychologically. She served people in her church through counseling and care ministries. Ashley has lived in Washington DC, New York City, and abroad and loves meeting people, learning about different cultures, and experiencing the beauty of God’s creation all over the world and through the nations of people coming to North Carolina. Ashley loves to spend time with her family, travel, explore the cities of the world, enjoy food, and go to Chapel Hill as often as possible to cheer for the Tar Heels.

Ashley’s experiences help her understand the uniqueness of each client, and she will draw from different theoretical perspectives and use different approaches, including psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral (CBT), narrative, and attachment, and she will draw from others to meet the client’s unique needs and goals. Seeking counseling is courageous, and Ashley is honored to walk alongside clients as they experience life’s hardships and joys to offer emotional support, encouragement, and a new perspective.

Ashley enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults. Her areas of experience include anxiety, depression, women’s issues, life adjustments, transitions, and interpersonal and intrapersonal conflicts.
