Catherine is a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern. She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University and has received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from North Carolina State University.
Catherine approaches counseling as a safe space to explore each person’s strengths and weaknesses while walking with them on their healing journey. She believes this requires a strong therapeutic alliance along with the client’s willingness to commit and accept ownership of their journey. In doing so, Catherine is able to collaborate with each client to tailor the therapy to their individual characteristics, preferences, needs, abilities, and spiritual beliefs.
Her approach to counseling is integrative with a focus on developing personal goals for growth and helping navigate the path to achieve them. She believes everyone has the capability to face and conquer their personal struggles and is passionate about helping clients to discover and enhance their abilities. Catherine views the client as a whole, and seeks to address the physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual components.
Catherine enjoys working with adolescents, adults in all stages of life, couples, and families. Her areas of interest include depression, anxiety, grief/loss, identity, trauma, and pre-marital/marital counseling.
