Sydney is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA). She earned a Bachelor of  Social Work degree from Campbell University and a Master of Social Work degree from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke. In addition, she holds certificates in Integrative Behavioral Health, Career Coaching, and Person Centered Counseling. 

Since 2013, Sydney has had experience working with children and adolescents as well as adults. She has worked in the school setting, non-profit sector, domestic violence shelter and leisure, entertainment, and recreational (Parks and Recreation) sectors. Sydney has post graduate experience with Child Welfare and Community Mental Health which focused on helping children, adolescents, adults and families with an array of issues. Her experience includes but is not limited to grief and loss, trauma, suicidal ideation, depression, anxiety, and anger management. She also has experience conducting comprehensive clinical assessments, trauma screening, school-related issues, career coaching and ADHD screening. 

Sydney believes counseling should be holistic and person-centered. She seeks to help clients come out of places of darkness and to embrace the light. Sydney enjoys walking alongside children, adolescents and young adults as they partake in their journey of healing and wholeness. She also enjoys partnering with clients as they discover who they are as a person and child of God. 

She enjoys taking a person-centered approach while pulling from evidence-based treatment models including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person Centered Therapy, Brief Solution Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, Faith-Based Therapy and Integrative Behavioral Health in order to treat a wide variety of psychological issues in children, adolescents, and adults. Sydney also integrates Biblical and scriptural truths along with prayer throughout the process.
