    What is Counseling Like?

Counseling at LifeCare feels like a cup of coffee with a caring individual who genuinely cares. It is 60 minutes of your time to discuss matters which are all kept confidential. It is an opportunity to be honest without judgment or shame. At LifeCare, we seek to meet you where you are and encourage you on your journey…

How do I convince my reluctant partner to come with me?

You may be ready to work on your relationship while your partner isn't. That's more common than you might think. Rather than pressuring your partner, start by sharing why counseling matters to you and what you hope it could help you both with.

It can also help to reassure your partner that couples counseling is not about choosing sides or placing blame. It is a space for both people to feel heard, understand each other better, and work toward a healthier relationship.

If your partner still isn't ready, you can begin counseling on your own. Individual counseling can help you better understand your relationship, improve how you communicate, establish healthy boundaries, and consider the next steps that are right for you.

You don't have to wait for your partner to be ready before taking care of yourself and your relationship.
